Walk for MIND

The Superior Healthcare Group are supporting Mid Kent Mind this Time To Talk Day with a joint step challenge, in which we hope will encourage our colleagues across the organisation to embrace the benefits that physical activity and fresh air can have on our mental health.

During periods of Lockdown last year, many people up and down the country found that getting outdoors and embracing the benefits that nature brings had a real positive impact on both their mental health and their overall levels of wellbeing (even if it meant wrapping up in the colder months!). Many of our colleagues across the organisation embraced the opportunity to head out on walks together when allowed – using the outdoors as a valuable space where we could connect with others and elevate our mood. We want to carry forward these positives by joining with our ‘Time To Talk Step Challenge’ – combining the benefits of talking and walking.

We would like to encourage team members across the organisation to get moving, and to use their time outdoors as an opportunity to connect with others should they feel comfortable doing so. You don’t need to run a marathon (although you’re welcome to!) – just take a few steps and contribute to an ongoing total. If, across the organisation, we all work together to do little and often, then we can achieve an amazing number of steps – and hopefully raise some money for a good cause, too. Get involved, let your friends and family know that you’re taking on this challenge, and ask them to sponsor you to take part.

Together we can make a difference, get more people talking about mental health and why exercise is so beneficial for it, and can also directly support some of the services which are making a difference in our communities locally.  Let’s show people that it’s OK not to be OK this Time To Talk Day.
