PMVA Training, or Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression Training, is a CPD-accredited program designed for care staff to learn how to spot, prevent, and handle aggressive or violent behaviour. This training covers both verbal and physical aggression.
Participants will learn how to identify what triggers aggressive behaviour, practice different de-escalation techniques to calm situations and understand how to use restrictive physical interventions (RPIs) only as a last resort when necessary.
PMVA training is mandatory under the Use of Force Act 2018 for all staff working in mental health, healthcare, social care, and education settings. Additionally, all PMVA training must comply with the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Training Standards.
The cost of PMVA training depends on whether it is booked for a group of care professionals or for an individual.
Superior Healthcare’s PMVA training is CPD-accredited. Everyone who successfully completes the in-person training will receive a certificate within five working days.
Our goal is to help your team improve their ability to prevent and manage challenging encounters with the people they support. We focus on ensuring that each training session is directly relevant to their everyday work and complies with the guidelines that govern their practice.
