Agency to Complex

Supporting your progression

At Superior Healthcare, we go the extra mile to support and encourage our care professionals to transition from agency to complex care roles that better align with their lifestyle needs.

We do this by providing our agency team members with access to paid training, support, and carefully selected placements, helping them move into a complex care role they’ll enjoy.

By offering comprehensive training, we support Agency employees who require fixed and full-time rotas, to become Complex Care Healthcare Assistants.

What does a Healthcare Assistant do?

Unlike our Agency team, in Complex Care you build a rapport with one or a small number of clients within your local town. Working as part of a small care and nursing team, to support children, young people, or adults with ongoing and/or life-limiting conditions.

The training you will receive

As a new member of our complex care team, you’ll receive excellent training from our clinical educators, both in-person and online – and we’ll pay you for that too. Your initial training is a five-day induction, offering you a chance to enhance and refresh your skills and meet other Support Workers, Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses.

If a client’s needs require additional skills, such as tracheostomy care, airway management, or enteral feeding, we offer paid specialist training. This ensures you can confidently support your clients and enhance your skills, opening up more placement opportunities.

You’ll be thoroughly supported after training with induction shifts, shadow shifts and ongoing supervision provided by our in-house team of nurses and supervisors.

Plus, we’ll also offer you the opportunity to enrol in a Level 2 to 5 Diplomas in Health and Social Care – helping you continue to open doors to opportunities, like progressing onto a Field Care Supervisor role.

For us, it's personal

Superior Healthcare was founded in 2006 by Stewart Thorp, his father Charles, and Sarah Richards after Stewart’s brother, Alex, sustained a traumatic brain injury and required 24-hour care.

When organising at-home twenty-four-hour care for Alex, Stewart identified the need for a specialist provider that could fit into family life and continue Alex’s rehabilitation.

As a result, Superior Healthcare was formed, and since then, we have been providing support to individuals living with complex needs.
