Successfully working with integrated care boards
Superior Healthcare is trusted by and collaborates extensively with integrated care boards (ICBs) and NHS clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) across the UK.
By choosing Superior Healthcare, you can rest assured that the individuals you represent will receive a high-quality nurse-led service.
Our complex care service
We offer a range of care options, including live-in care, 24-hour support, and smaller complex care packages for specific times of the day.
Many of our clients receive NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) funding and joint packages of care. We also support those with dual-funded packages, privately funded arrangements, care arranged by a Case Manager, and personal health budgets.
Setting up a care package
We collaboratively plan the level of care with all parties involved in a client’s well-being, including ICBs, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams.
All our nurse managers are experienced in providing high levels of reporting to ICB clinical teams.
We develop robust care plans with the client’s clinical needs, desires, and goals at the centre of their care provision.
Our commitment to clinical excellence is evident in our trusted partnerships with the ICBs and case managers across the UK. We have a robust governance and policy framework that ensures our nurse-led care is provided safely, to the highest standards, and in compliance with regulations.
This guarantees successful care provisions and maintains best-practice clinical care through our comprehensive induction, training, and nurse-led service structure.

Continuity of care
We are flexible and responsive. We work to effectively meet our clients’ evolving clinical and social needs.
Evolving care
We work with children, young people and adults throughout their lives, on a long-term basis.
Along the way, our Nurse-Manager and expert clinical team will identify changes in the individual’s health, social care needs, and ambitions, and evolve the care they provide.
Rehabilitation
We strive to achieve successful rehabilitation outcomes where possible.
We take pride in knowing that the quality of our service has led to a reduction in care required by our clients. For example, we can carry out an independent living trial for a client and reduce our professional input if required.
Recruitment
We recruit and retain a dedicated care and nursing team, who undergo rigorous pre-employment checks.
Everyone receives a comprehensive induction and ongoing training. Our commitment to wellbeing and professional development ensures our team members deliver best-practice clinical care, with high retainment rates.

Integrated care board FAQs
What specialist training do you provide to your care and nursing teams?
All members of our team undergo an extensive, five-day classroom training programme, complemented by practical workshops, before their introduction to our clients.
This comprehensive training curriculum encompasses the complete care certificate and provides detailed instruction on the essential skills required for supporting complex clients, including tracheostomy management and gastrostomy care.
Following this initial classroom induction, personalised, client-focused training sessions are ongoing.
We train teams of carers, support workers, registered nurses, and children’s nurses, to support people who:
- Have a tracheostomy and/or ventilator (BiPAP/CPAP) and require support to maintain a clear airway
- Use a suction or cough assist device
- Require seizure management and administration of rescue medication such as Buccal Midazolam, and Rectal Diazepam if required
- Need support to receive medication, nutrition, and hydration via gastrostomy tube
- Require assistance with personal care, including continence care
- Need assistance with medication administration
- Require bowel care and prevention of Autonomic dysreflexia following a spinal injury
- Need positive behaviour support to live safely
Do you operate across the UK?
Superior Healthcare is regulated by the Care Quality Commission to provide care exclusively to clients in England. We offer support to adults, young people, and children throughout the entire country.
How do I switch my CHC-funded care package to Superior Healthcare?
The decision to switch providers depends on the arrangements made with your ICB or local authority that supplies your care.
How do you recruit and retain your teams?
We recruit and retain a dedicated team of carers, support workers, and nurses – including children’s nurses – who undergo rigorous pre-employment checks.
Everyone at Superior Healthcare receives rigorous pre-employment checks, a comprehensive induction and ongoing training. Our commitment to employee wellbeing and professional development ensures our teams deliver best-practice clinical care.
- We apply for Enhanced DBS checks and complete annual update checks via the DBS Update Service.
- We verify employees’ complete career history and obtain employer references covering at least the last three years of employment.
- We provide comprehensive induction programmes, delivered in our classroom and facilitated by our team of experienced and qualified trainers.
- Our team receives mandatory ongoing training and continuing professional development opportunities, including Level 2/3 Diplomas in Health and Social Care.
- We proactively support our employees – every member of the Superior Healthcare team has access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme, with additional wellbeing support offered by our in-house wellbeing team.
How would you transfer some of the team working in a CHC-funded care package to Superior Healthcare?
When transferring a care package, we conduct a transfer of undertakings (TUPE) assessment. Typically, employees can transfer but retain their current benefits and employment terms, ensuring a seamless transition process.
Do you provide services for clients with spinal injuries?
Our team supports a number of clients living with spinal injuries. We provide manual evacuation assistance and ensure that carers receive training and certification from our in-house team.
