Our specialist home care is designed for people of all ages with complex care needs. We support clients referred by integrated care boards (ICBs), case managers, professional deputies, as well as individuals with personal health budgets.

Our approach to complex care

Superior Healthcare was established in 2006 by Stewart Thorp, his father Charles, and Sarah Richards in response to their experience of finding care for Stewart’s brother, Alex.

Alex sustained a traumatic brain injury at 11 years old, as a result of a major road traffic accident.

What makes us different

Our approach is rooted in resolving the challenges faced during Alex’s rehabilitation, which highlighted the need for a specialist local care provider capable of seamlessly fitting into family life while providing comprehensive clinical support.

We are used to working with families, like Alex’s, who have had to make significant adjustments to their home and lifestyle following a life-changing incident or diagnosis.

That’s why, at Superior Healthcare, we provide extensive support to our care and nursing team, including client-specific training from our in-house clinical educators, to ensure our clients and their care teams are set up for success.

We handpick experienced healthcare professionals who can assist our clients in getting the most out of life and continuing to do the things they enjoy.

Our nurse-led approach

Nurse-led service

Our nurse managers have small client caseloads to ensure they have the time to provide comprehensive support to every client, every families and our wider care team.

Specialist training

Our nurse managers identify client-specific training needs and collaborate with in-house clinical educators to deliver tailored training to our care and nursing teams. Session topics have includes tracheostomy, enteral feeding, and bowel care.

Since our inception, we have provided specialist, nurse-led complex care services to individuals across the UK, utilising our expert local teams.

We are trusted to provide comprehensive complex care packages by NHS clinical commissioning groups, local authorities, case managers, and solicitors, including Court of Protection deputies. Most importantly, however, we are trusted by the people and families we support.

Case managers handling pre-settlement cases often contact us seeking documentation to strengthen their client’s claim, as well as cost-effective care solutions for clients with settlements.

Complex care is tailored person-centred healthcare provided to individuals living with chronic conditions. This specialised form of care encompasses a range of services aimed at helping individuals manage symptoms and daily tasks associated with long-term health conditions. Examples of such conditions include neurological disorders, disabilities, injuries, and conditions requiring feeding tubes.

Complex care, often referred to as long-term or continuing care, is a specialised form of home care provided to individuals with ongoing healthcare needs, such as chronic conditions and disabilities.

It is designed for people who require additional assistance managing their symptoms and daily activities.
