Superior Healthcare provides tailored, nurse managed packages of care and support for people who have acquired brain injuries. We’re proud to support clients to achieve their aspirations and, in cases, to be part of the team that has supported clients’ recovery from a brain injury.
Superior Healthcare stems from our CEO’s personal experience of supporting his sister who sustained a brain injury as the consequence of a road traffic accident in which she was involved when she was just 11 years old.
Since 2006, we are proud to have supported many children, young people and adults who have acquired a brain injury following illness or injury and recognise the need to offer a flexible service which is responsive to our clients’ changing care and support needs.
The service that we provide is underpinned by our team of Lead Nurses who include Registered Nurses and Children’s Nurses who support our team of specialist carers, support workers and nurses including paediatric nurses.
A brain injury occurs from an incident or accident that has resulted in one or more areas of the brain being damaged, resulting in learning disabilities or loss of cognition. This in turn can have an impact on physical movement and daily living skills.
The care that may be needed could include assistance with personal care, prompting and assisting with daily tasks which they could independently do before the injury. Some clients may have a client-specific daily routine or therapy programme that they need to follow.
There are many causes of brain injury which Headway, the brain injury association, notes to include:
Superior Healthcare works with people self-funding their care as well as using a Personal Health Budget. We are trusted by NHS clinical commissioning groups, local authorities, case managers and solicitors including people who have been appointed a Court of Protection Deputy.
