Why People Choose Superior
1. A Care Team Built Around Your Loved One
When you trust someone to care for your parent or family member, you want people who truly understand them.
At Superior, we don’t just assign carers – we handpick a team that fits your loved one’s medical needs, personality, and routines.
Whether that means matching by language, interests, or special clinical skills, we make sure the team feels right.
And with our network of over 500 trained care workers, you can relax knowing we always have experienced professionals available – no gaps, no uncertainty.
2. Dedicated Nurse Management for Complete Confidence
It can be overwhelming to coordinate complex care. That’s why every family has a dedicated Nurse Manager who takes responsibility for overseeing the entire care package.
You’ll always know who to turn to – someone who understands your situation, checks in regularly, and makes sure everything stays on track. It’s one consistent point of contact, giving you confidence that nothing is missed and every detail is handled by an expert.
3. Specialist Training Tailored to Your Loved One’s Needs
When care is complex, you need reassurance that everyone involved knows exactly what to do.
At Superior, your loved one’s nurses and support workers receive specialist training designed around their individual care plan – whether that’s managing a ventilator, PEG feeding, seizure support, or mobility needs.
All training is delivered in-house by our Clinical Educators, so you can trust that every team member caring for your loved one is fully prepared and competent from day one.
4. Always Covered, Always Ready
Life doesn’t stop for emergencies – and you shouldn’t have to worry about what happens if someone’s off sick or plans change.
With our Senior Carers, Field Care Supervisors, and Registered Nurses ready to step in, your loved one’s care continues smoothly no matter what.
Families often tell us the biggest comfort is knowing that there’s always someone qualified, caring, and ready to ensure their loved one is never without support.
5. 24/7 Clinical Support for Total Peace of Mind
Care doesn’t keep office hours, and neither do we.
Our Clinical Supervisors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing professional advice and support whenever you need it – day or night.
Whether there’s a sudden change in condition or you just need reassurance, you’ll never feel alone. Families know they can pick up the phone and speak to a qualified professional who knows their loved one’s situation.
6. Everyday Support That Keeps Everything Running Smoothly
Behind every great care experience is a team quietly making it all work.
Our dedicated Support Team handles scheduling, communication, and coordination so you don’t have to.
They’re here to answer questions, resolve issues quickly, and keep things organised – letting you focus on being family, not a care coordinator.
Our Story
Superior Healthcare was founded in 2006 by Stewart Thorp, his father Charles and Sarah Richards in response to caring for Stewart’s brother, Alex, who has an acquired brain injury.
As Stewart explains, they have first-hand experience of what it’s like living with complex care needs at home, and means that Superior Healthcare has a greater purpose: to improve the lives of every person who comes in to contact with The Superior Healthcare Group.
Conditions We Provide Care For
When living with a complex medical condition, you want care that’s not just competent or only medical – but compassionate, reliable, and completely centred around the person who deserves the very best.
At Superior Healthcare, we specialise in supporting children, young people, and adults with a wide range of complex and long-term health needs, enabling them to live safely, comfortably, and as independently as possible at home.
We support people living with conditions such as:
Our highly trained teams – including Registered Nurses, Paediatric Nurses, and Specialist Carers – provide care that’s tailored to each individual’s condition, preferences, and goals.
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all support; instead, we design a care plan as unique as the person receiving it.
Stories of Real Family Life
When we provide care for a person, we bring a first-hand understanding of what it’s like to have a family member needing complex care.
It all adds up to Superior realising that complex care goes far beyond the medical side, and is about the holistic life experience of the client – and the family too.
Fully Regulated and Approved
Our Governance and Reputation — So You Can Feel Completely Confident
When it comes to your loved one’s care, you shouldn’t have to take anyone’s word for it.
At Superior Healthcare, our quality, safety, and professionalism are independently verified: giving you complete confidence that your family member is in the best possible hands.
CQC Regulated and Approved for Complex Nursing Care
We’re fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and hold specific registration for Treatment of Disease, Disorder or Injury (TDDI).
That means we’re legally approved and qualified to deliver complex nursing tasks – even when delegated to trained Healthcare Support Workers.
For families, this means peace of mind that your loved one’s care is not only compassionate, but also clinically safe and professionally accountable.
Rated ‘Good’ in Every Area That Matters to Families
Our most recent CQC inspection rated us ‘Good’ across all five domains – Safe, Caring, Effective, Responsive, and Well-Led.
These aren’t just words – they’re the standards you rely on every day.
It means you can trust that your loved one will be safe, treated with dignity, cared for by people who listen, and supported by a service that is organised and reliable.
