Complex Care in a Community Setting
We understand that 24/7 complex care requires more than medical attention — it requires compassion, creativity, and an environment where people feel truly valued. At these specialist homes, every detail – from sensory lighting to communal activities – is designed to support wellbeing, independence, and belonging.
Chalkway
Chalkway isn’t just a place to stay. It’s a home where people with profound and complex needs are supported to live full, meaningful lives.
Living here means being part of a community.
Residents can enjoy quiet spaces when they need calm, and shared spaces when they want to connect.
Whether it’s gardening, arts and crafts, therapy, or simply sharing a meal with friends, Chalkway helps individuals feel both supported and part of something bigger.
Jo's Story
Jo has lived with a complex neurological condition and epilepsy since infancy, requiring 24-hour, two-to-one support for all aspects of her care and wellbeing. For the first 21 years of her life, Jo lived at home with her family, supported closely by her parents, Flo and Rod.
As Jo’s needs evolved, her family sought a new living arrangement that would provide the same level of personalised care while offering her greater independence and long-term security.Â
At Superior Healthcare, we recognise that individuals with complex needs require more than standard accommodation – they need environments that are carefully designed around them. That’s why we are actively investing in the development of additional ‘Specialist Homes’, purpose-built to support people with high-acuity, long-term conditions in settings that prioritise both clinical excellence and quality of life.
Tailored for both clinical and behavioural needs
Our Specialist Homes are developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals, commissioners, families, and the individuals themselves.
Each property is tailored to meet specific clinical, behavioural, and accessibility requirements, ensuring that care delivery is not only safe and effective, but also empowering.
From assistive technologies and adapted living spaces to thoughtfully designed communal areas, every detail is considered to promote independence, dignity, and comfort.
Embedded within the community
Importantly, these homes are embedded within local communities rather than isolated from them. This enables individuals to maintain social connections, access local services, and live as independently as possible while still receiving the specialist support they need.
By combining bespoke accommodation with expert-led care packages, we create sustainable, person-centred solutions that bridge the gap between hospital settings and traditional residential care.
Our commitment
As demand for complex care continues to grow, our commitment is to expand this model – delivering more high-quality Specialist Homes across the regions we serve.
This ensures that more individuals can transition into appropriate community-based environments that truly meet their needs, both now and in the future.
