Surrey is not short of community engagement opportunities, from social choirs and walking groups to day activities and local clubs.

These organisations offer regular, ongoing support and social connection, giving people with additional needs, disabilities or long‑term conditions (and their families) a chance to meet others, share interests, develop skills and feel part of a welcoming community.

1. Surrey Coalition of Disabled People – Inclusive Networks and Social Community

Surrey Coalition of Disabled People is a long‑established county‑wide organisation run by and for disabled people. It promotes rights, runs specialist interest groups, and offers a range of social activities, virtual meetups, book clubs, craft sessions and cafés for its members. Their events and groups provide opportunities to meet others, be part of a supportive network, and join discussions shaping local services and activity provision.

2. Include.Org – Inclusive Choirs, Walking Groups and Social Sessions

Include.Org runs inclusive, low‑pressure social activities across Surrey that are suitable for adults and families with communication, learning or autism‑related support needs. This includes community choirs in Redhill and Epsom, relaxed walking groups that use Makaton, and other regular meetups designed to be welcoming for all.

3. Mid Surrey Mencap – Social Events and Day Programmes

Mid Surrey Mencap supports people with learning disabilities and offers weekly day services, social events, skills groups, creative activities and inclusive sessions in the Epsom & Ewell, Banstead and Mole Valley areas. Surrey Community Action supports community resilience across the county. The Surrey Inclusive Activity Network brings together organisations, activity providers and community representatives to support and expand inclusive sport and activity opportunities throughout Surrey. While network meetings are more for service planning, the activities they promote (inclusive sport, active groups, adapted sessions) continue to run locally and help people of all abilities stay active and connected.
