As a children’s complex care nurse, you will provide high-quality care and support to clients with complex healthcare needs. You’ll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with one or a few clients in your local area.
Your role will involve ensuring that each client receives person-centred care and helping them lead fulfilling and happy lives.
Being a children’s complex care nurse is rewarding and fulfilling, and you’ll cover a wide range of tasks. Throughout, our nurse managers and field care supervisors will ensure you have the knowledge and skills to provide safe, effective care.
A children’s complex care nurse’s daily tasks may include supporting clients with personal care, moving and handling, medication administration, activity planning, and community access.
You may also provide clinical support, including tracheostomy, PEG, and ventilation management.
When required, you may assist with light household duties and preparing meals.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a children’s complex care nurse is the ability to make a tangible difference in clients’ lives.
Our children’s complex care nurses help clients achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives. The satisfaction of seeing clients happy is unparalleled. This sense of accomplishment and the opportunity to positively impact clients’ lives are what children’s complex care nurses at Superior Healthcare cherish most about their role.
Some clients receive one-to-one care, while others may need double-handed care around the clock.
As a children’s complex care nurse on our complex care team, you may work closely with nurses or other complex care assistants in a small, collaborative team.
Our complex care nurses benefit from a fixed rota with a choice of days and opportunities for overtime.
As a new member of our complex care team, you’ll receive excellent training from our clinical educators, both in-person and online – and we’ll pay you for those hours, too.
Your initial training will be a five-day induction, offering you a chance to enhance and refresh your skills and meet other support workers, children’s complex care nurses and registered nurses.
If a client’s needs require additional skills, such as tracheostomy care, airway management, or enteral feeding, we offer paid specialist training to enhance your skills further.
You’ll be thoroughly supported after your training, and we’ll offer you the chance to enrol in Level 2 to 5 Diplomas in Health and Social Care.
