Healthcare Support Worker – Complex Care

About the Role

Superior Healthcare is recruiting a Healthcare Support Worker to support a lady living in her adapted home with her husband in Havant.

Following a road traffic accident, the client requires assistance to maintain her independence and continue enjoying the activities and relationships that are important to her. She is a loving mother, and grandmother who enjoys spending time with her family and remains motivated to stay active and engaged within her community.

This role would suit a compassionate and proactive carer who understands the importance of promoting independence, encouraging rehabilitation, and supporting clients to achieve their goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Providing person-centred care within the client’s home
  • Supporting the client to access the community, including appointments, physiotherapy sessions, the gym, and local activities
  • Confidently driving the client’s wheelchair-accessible vehicle
  • Supporting stoma care and monitoring skin integrity and wound care needs
  • Encouraging independence while providing appropriate assistance when required
  • Promoting rehabilitation goals and supporting the client to remain active and engaged
  • Building a positive and professional working relationship with the client and her family

Shift Pattern

  • Monday to Thursday
  • 08:00 – 14:00

Pay & Benefits

Requirements

  • Drivers essential
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Confident driving a wheelchair-accessible vehicle
  • Stoma experience essential
  • Knowledge of wound care and line management desirable
  • Experience supporting adults with complex care needs advantageous
  • Positive and encouraging approach to rehabilitation
  • Able to promote independence without taking over tasks
  • Reliable, proactive, and person-centred

Checks Required

  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Three years’ continuous referencing
