The Epilepsy Awareness with Rescue Medication Administration training course aims to build confidence and competence in recognising different types of seizures, delivering effective seizure first aid, and safely administering Buccal Midazolam.
 
						Participants of the Epilepsy Awareness with Rescue Medication Administration training course will engage in dynamic learning activities, real-life scenario discussions, and hands-on practical simulations.
By the end of the Epilepsy Awareness with Rescue Medication Administration training course, learners will have a comprehensive understanding of epilepsy management, SUDEP risk reduction, and the legal responsibilities surrounding Oromucosal medication administration.
All content is aligned with best practice guidance and includes up-to-date information from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and Joint Epilepsy Council (JEC).
 
						By the end of this training course, you'll be able to:
Explain what epilepsy is and how it affects the brain
Spot common seizure types, causes, and triggers
Understand how epilepsy is diagnosed and managed
Know what to do when someone has a seizure – including first aid
Use the TRUST steps to respond safely during a seizure
Know when to call 999 and what to say
Safely give Buccal Midazolam to someone who needs it
Be aware of the risks and side effects of Buccal Midazolam
Look after someone after a seizure and know what to monitor
Understand the legal and safety rules around epilepsy care and medication
