Healthcare Assistants – Braintree

Support a male client with a spinal injury • 2:1 care • 12‑hour waking night shifts

We are looking for reliable and confident Healthcare Assistants to support a male client living in the Braintree area. Our client has a spinal injury resulting in full paralysis from the neck down and requires 24/7 2:1 waking care.

This is a well‑established package with a settled team in place. We are now recruiting additional members of the team to fill the gaps.

About the role

You will be supporting a male client in his late 30s who has full mental capacity and lives at home with a consistent care routine. Duties include:

  • Maintaining safety and comfort throughout the night
  • Manual handling and repositioning
  • Personal care
  • Monitoring skin integrity
  • Supporting a stable, structured nighttime routine

Shifts are:

  • 12‑hour waking nights (8pm–8am)
  • 12‑hour days (8am–8pm) also available when additional cover is needed

Both male and female carers are welcome to apply.

What we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from carers who have:

  • Experience supporting clients with spinal injuries, mobility needs or complex physical care
  • Strong skills in safe manual handling
  • Confidence working within a structured 2:1 package
  • A full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle
  • The ability to commit to regular weekly shifts.
  • Are already based in the UK (we cannot offer sponsorship)

What we offer

  • £14.30 – £17.60 per hour
  • Paid induction training & ongoing clinical skills training
  • Opportunity to work towards an NVQ/Diploma
  • Holiday pay & pension scheme
  • Blue Light Card – funded by us
  • Referral rewards
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Menopause support
  • Continued guidance and supervision from our nurses and senior team

If you’re a caring, confident Healthcare Assistant looking for consistent night shifts within a friendly, stable care team, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
