We are recruiting confident, resilient and engaging Healthcare Assistants to join a brand‑new 24/7 support team for a client living with the long‑term effects of a severe traumatic brain injury.

This is an exciting opportunity to help build a proactive, rehabilitation‑focused team supporting one client in their own home and local community.

About the role

The client sustained significant injuries following a road traffic incident and now requires consistent, structured support. You will be part of a dedicated team delivering:

  • 2:1 support during the day (8am–8pm)
  • 1:1 waking night care (8pm–8am)

Your role will include:

  • Personal care and daily living support
  • Safe management of a suprapubic catheter (training provided)
  • Supporting memory strategies and orientation
  • Managing perseveration and maintaining boundaries
  • Encouraging safe, meaningful conversations
  • Community access and rehabilitation activities
  • Promoting independence, confidence and routine

About the client

The client experiences:

  • Poor memory and recognition due to severe TBI
  • Perseveration on certain topics
  • Reduced social awareness
  • Language that may include swearing or graphic themes
  • Episodes of disinhibition

Despite this, he is described as:

  • Very amenable
  • Enjoys banter and conversation
  • Responds extremely well to positive feedback and encouragement
  • Fun and engaging to work with when routines are consistent

We are looking for a team who can bring structure, patience, humour and a proactive approach.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in complex care, brain injury, mental health or PBS-style support
  • Confidence maintaining boundaries & using redirection techniques
  • Willingness to support community rehabilitation activities
  • A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts and commit to at least 2 shifts per week
  • Must already be based in the UK (sponsorship not available)

What we offer

  • £14.30 – £17.60 per hour
  • Paid induction & ongoing specialist training
  • Option to complete an NVQ/Diploma
  • Holiday pay & pension
  • Blue Light Card – fully funded
  • Referral rewards
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Menopause support
  • Continued support from our nurses, supervisors and complex care leads

If you’re confident, compassionate and enjoy supporting adults with cognitive or behavioural needs, we’d love to hear from you.
