Healthcare Support Worker – Complex Paediatric Care

About the Role
Superior Healthcare is recruiting a female Healthcare Support Worker to support a lively and engaging 4-year-old boy with Hypoxic Ischaemic Encephalopathy (HIE) in his family home.
He lives with his parents and brother and enjoys Paw Patrol, cars, building blocks, and painting. He is full of energy, loves to explore, and requires dedicated 1:1 supervision at all times, as he has no awareness of danger.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a young child’s life, supporting his development, independence, and daily routines in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality, person-centred care in the family home
- Supporting the client’s clinical needs, including PEG feeding
- Promoting engagement through play and age-appropriate activities
- Encouraging learning, communication, and social interaction
- Maintaining close supervision to ensure the client’s safety at all times
- Building a positive and trusting relationship with the client and his family
- Supporting routines during both term time and school holidays

Shift Pattern
Term Time
- Monday to Wednesday: 15:00 – 21:00
- Thursday: 07:00 – 19:00
School Holidays
- Monday to Wednesday: 07:00 – 19:00
- Thursday: 07:00 – 19:00
Pay & Benefits
- £14.30 per hour

Requirements
- Female carers only
- PEG feeding experience essential
- Knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) essential
- Driver with a full, clean UK driving license essential
- Calm, vigilant, and proactive approach
- Able to provide close 1:1 supervision at all times
- Energetic and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for supporting children
Additional Pre-Employment Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check
- Three years’ continuous referencing
- Due to the nature of a parent’s employment, successful applicants will be required to undergo additional security and suitability checks, including sharing DBS clearance with the relevant workplace security team.
