Description

Support Worker – Brain Injury & Complex Needs

Location: Canvey Island, Essex
Shifts: Days Only – Tuesday to Sunday, 8:00am–8:00pm

Superior Healthcare is seeking an experienced and compassionate Support Worker to support an individual living with an acquired brain injury in the Canvey Island area.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s life by providing person-centred care, promoting independence, and supporting their ongoing journey.

About the Role

Working on a 1:1 basis, you will support the client both at home and within the community, delivering high-quality care tailored to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing personal care and daily living support
  • Assisting with mobility
  • Encouraging independence through motivation and positive engagement
  • Administering and supporting with regular medication
  • Managing and de-escalating behaviours that may challenge
  • Supporting community access and social activities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with  brain injuries (essential)
  • Experience managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours
  • Confidence supporting individuals with complex clinical needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to care
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding person-centred support
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
  • Full right to work in the UK

  • To support clients with personal care and administer medication.
  • To provide complex care interventions where required.
  • Help to access the community.
  • To show the client dignity and respect at all times.
  • To regularly refer to and follow care plans written by the Nurse Manager to ensure exceptional person-centred care is provided.
  • To be fun, friendly and engaging with the client around their interests and hobbies.
  • To closely observe and monitor the client and keep thorough documentation.
