The bonding squares you’ll be making are simple and easy. If you’re new to knitting, you might not get it right the first or second time, but keep trying—you’ll get there!
Once you’ve signed up, we’ll email you the video tutorial and a how-to PDF guide.

Knitting is great for well-being because it helps reduce stress, improve focus, and promote relaxation.
The repetitive motions create a meditative effect, lowering anxiety and even reducing blood pressure.
It also boosts cognitive function, enhances dexterity, and provides a sense of accomplishment—and in our case with Late Night Knitters, pride—knowing you’ve made something that will be cherished by the baby and family who receive it.

Knitting during a wake-night shift is a great way to stay alert and engaged when you’re in a separate room, not required to provide direct care at that moment. It keeps your mind active in a positive way and can be done while watching something or waiting to be needed.
It’s an enjoyable and productive way to pass the time, and the sense of accomplishment from creating something tangible can be incredibly rewarding.
Beyond night shifts, knitting can also be beneficial during the day when supporting clients who prefer some personal space. It gives you an activity to focus on when you’re respecting a client’s need for distance, when they don’t require active support.
